GRADUATE STUDENT MEMBERSHIP ON THE RAMP BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Research Association of Minority Professors is extending an invitation for a graduate student representative to the Research Association of Minority Professors Executive Board. As a student board member, the graduate student representative is charged with representing RAMP student membership concerns to the Board in a thoughtful and effective manner. The graduate student representative will be responsible for attending all Board of Directors meetings as well as representing the organization whenever and wherever possible with dignity and integrity. The Graduate Student Executive Board Member has an obligation to advance the mission of RAMP. This student shall be appointed by the Executive Board of Directors as a voting member.
Graduate Student Board Member Duties and Responsibilities
- Act as an ambassador in promoting RAMP especially at the graduate and undergraduate level.
- Advise RAMP leaders on programs and activities pertinent to graduate and undergraduate students in RAMP.
- Collaborate with the Executive Board members regarding recommendations for RAMP policies and procedures.
- Work closely and cooperatively with Board Members for mentorship.
- Demonstrate familiarity with graduate and undergraduate student issues.
Qualifications
- Doctoral or masters student status.
- Good academic standing at respective institution.
- Available for a two-year appointment to serve on the Board of Directors.
- If any of the terms or conditions of nomination are violated, the student board member must resign.

- Letter of Introduction which includes reason for seeking the position, specific areas of competence and contact information.
- Letter of Support from respective graduate program.
- Letter of Endorsement from a member of RAMP.
