Dr. Frank T. Hawkins Scholarship Award

In honor of Dr. Frank T. Hawkins, the Research Association of Minority Professors (RAMP) has created the Dr. Frank T Hawkins Scholarship Award scholarship, supporting the scholarship of students in higher education. The aim is to offer three $1,500 each.

Dr. Frank T. Hawkins Scholarship Award aims to serve the following objectives:
  • To promote access to quality education at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • To promote the spirit of research and creative work among students of color and/or economically disadvantaged.

Guidelines, Requirements and Eligibility

The following guidelines will be used as criteria for the selection process:
  • Undergraduate (Sophomore) with at least 2.75 GPA
  • Master’s students with at least 3.0 GPA
  • Doctoral students with at least 3.2 GPA

Other requirements
  • Applicants must submit at least two letters of recommendation with one from a current member of RAMP and another from a faculty member or administrator informing the committee why this person should be awarded the scholarship.
  • Applicants must have attended at least one conference.
  • Upon being awarded, scholarship recipients must have a form completed by Bursar to verify enrollment and the address where scholarship funds will be sent. Funds will be sent to the institution’s foundation for distribution.

To apply, Please complete the applicat​ion shown at the below link. Please complete the application in its entirety for consideration. 

Applications will be available on March 31.
Close date of application will be April 30.
Awardees will be selected by June 7.
The Award will be distributed to the student for Fall Semester 2026.
